Congratulations to the 83 young people of our parish who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Archbishop Robert Casey presided over the Mass and urged students to cherish their relationship with God. Strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, may they continue to grow in faith, live out the Gospel, and be a light to others in the world. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue their journey of faith.
SMOY Fathers Team joined together with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build 50 beds for kids in need ensuring that no child sleeps on the floor. Over the next few months, the beds they constructed will be delivered to some of the 308 local children currently waiting for a bed of their own. The Heart & Soul Mission is to encourage and promote friendship and fellowship at St. Margaret of York Parish through social and fun-filled events. Heart & Soul is an all-inclusive group open to all singles and couples by serving them in their diverse needs and interests. Participants typically span the ages of 50+; however, all are welcome. Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a special Franciscan Jubilee Year to mark the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi. On June 2, 2026 our parish will go on pilgrimage to the Oldenburg Franciscan Center. Learn more here . This Jubilee will be celebrated from January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027 , inviting the faithful to renew their commitment to holiness, peace, humility, and charity following the example of St. Francis. During this year, the Apostolic Penitentiary grants a plenary indulgence , under the usual conditions, to those who participate devoutly in Jubilee observances. Catholics may obtain the indulgence by making a pilgrimage to a Franciscan church or shrine dedicated to St. Francis, or by spiritually uniting themselves to the Jubilee if they are unable to travel. This special Jubilee is intended as a spiritual continuation of the Ordinary Jubilee of 2025. The Church encourages all believers to take part in this year of grace as a time of renewal, deeper faith, and active charity in today’s world.
