Baptism

We were indeed buried with him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live in newness of life.

Baptism

Preparing for Baptism

Parents seeking to have their child baptized begin by taking our baptismal prep class. These classes are offered on the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm via Zoom. To sign up for a class please contact Charlotte Sharon at baptism@smoy.org. If this is not your first child to be baptized and you have already taken a baptismal prep class, you do not need to take the class again. Once you have taken a baptismal prep class, Jacilyn Jackson will reach out to you regarding paperwork and scheduling.

Celebrating Baptism

Baptisms are celebrated after most Saturday 4:30pm Masses or Sunday 11am Masses by our deacons. To maintain the reverent and personal nature of the celebration, no more than three children will be scheduled for a baptismal date. Other arrangements and dates are possible as needed. Once all paperwork is received we will work with you to schedule a date that works well for your family. The day of the baptism families are encouraged to attend Mass together prior to the ceremony. After Mass, families meet the deacon at the baptismal font along the main aisle of the sanctuary to celebrate the sacrament.
