The mission of our Confirmation Prep program is to aid young people as they deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and embrace the Catholic faith as their own. Throughout the year students prepare for the completion of their baptism and strengthening by the Holy Spirit received at Confirmation, learn about the great examples of the saints, and explore a variety of Catholic spiritualities.

Confirmation preparation takes place during the student’s 8^th grade year through St. Margaret of York School or our Family Faith program. Additional elements include 3 retreats, service hours, and a saint essay. The student must have received regular 7^th grade religious education instruction via an approved channel in order to take part in Confirmation prep during their 8^th grade year.

Students who are homeschooled or take part in religious education at another Catholic school are welcome to participate in Confirmation Prep at SMOY. Although the entire program may not be required, some elements will still be essential in order to foster the student’s growth in community within our parish.
